Buffalo or Bison?
Visiting Yellowstone National Park is one of the most incredible experiences you could ever have. When you go, try to stay at a hotel or rent a condo at least half an hour from the park entrance. We stayed in Big Sky, Montana. We paid half the price of a regular hotel room closer to the park and we had an entire 2-bedroom condo with an incredible mountain view right off the golf course.
We shared pictures of our nature-filled vacation with our friends. There were wild Buffalo herds, huge bears with their little ones, and multiple elk at nearly every turn. Mountains and streams combined to birth powerful waterfalls and serene lakes. Winding trails led to geysers shooting hundreds of feet into the sky. The vivid colors of the natural hot springs seemed as though God was about to dip his paintbrush into them and create yet another incredible scene.
Our friends listened with intent ears, then strangely asked only one question. “Aren’t they actually called Bison?” Really?! Of all that we shared, that’s your question? I looked it up. Buffalo is the name for the Great American Bison. They may be called by both names. Now you know.
