Oregon Coast
God’s artistry in the power of nature
I visited the Oregon Coast when I was first married. We drove down Hwy 101, winding through thick pine forests as we meandered our way south. We eventually came to a picturesque small town that looked on the map like it was close to the coast. Taking the turn, my wife and I thought it would be nice to get a panoramic view. As we made our way into the town, there was a parking lot at the end of the road. It seemed like a good enough place to park, interesting placement, but why not? As soon as we pulled in the space we lost our breath for a moment, Wow! Just ahead was the most incredible view!
The power unleashed in waves carved incredible rock formations along the shoreline and several yards out into the ocean. Huge boulders the size of houses looked like they had been hurled into place by an ancient giant race. The cliffsides were high and steep, like a God-sized meat cleaver was pressed through the hill and swiped off half a mountain, forming the coast below.
Water, wind and time were God’s art tools to reveal one of the most incredible views we could imagine.
